#FBF | Our Story

Our practice began in the summer of 1980 with Julian Marsh, whose early work laid a strong foundation for what was to come. A major turning point came in 1983 with the arrival of Jerzy Grochowski as co-partner. Jerzy brought a shared vision and a complementary design sensibility, and together they shaped the core principles that still guide us today.

Now led by Simon Sweet-Smith, the practice carries forward this legacy of design excellence—refreshed with new energy and a forward-looking perspective.
