This project involved the sensitive renovation of the Grade II Listed theatre within the Pavilion Gardens, adjacent to the Buxton Opera House. The transformation of the Pavilion Arts Centre allows the venue to operate flexibly as both a 350-seat main auditorium and a 110-seat studio theatre.

The complex intervention reconnects the theatre to multiple levels of the surrounding Pavilion Gardens and makes the entire building fully accessible. In doing so, it not only improves functionality but also restores the theatre to something reminiscent of its former glory—revitalising a much-loved cultural landmark.
