Stoney Street is a mixed-use development that includes the conversion and change of use of the existing buildings to a mix use of office spaces and apartments. In addition, it includes the construction of a four storey extension on the corner of Stoney Street and Woolpack Lane and the provision of a rooftop terrace and small roof extensions.
This new curved extension envelops the rather poor existing corner elevation with its add on extensions and sub-station, providing a much improved façade in the Conservation Area. It is intended that this new extension would be the focal point for a new ‘business club/hub’. The connection between new and existing is dealt with by using a contrasting material - white glazed bricks, in different patterns and sizes.
