A new community centre adjacent to a John Carr Grade II* Listed museum which incorporates a public garden, meeting facilities and park ranger offices. The building uses low energy local materials, buffered and zoned space design, passive stack ventilation, light pipes, a green roof, rainwater harvesting, solar hot water, photovoltaics and a biomass fired heating system to minimise its environmental impact.
