The project is for a total of 29 no. three and four bedroom houses, in seven small groupings, in the Meadows area to the south west of Nottingham City Centre. The houses are arranged around the existing street patterns in the locality. The main feature of the site is its close proximity on the south side to the River Trent. Here, a new adopted road has been created to serve the site allowing for a row of 11 no. three storey townhouses to overlook the river. A one off, four storey house on the end of this row at the south east corner of the site has excellent views over the river and the adjacent parkland. All the houses overlooking the river have a roof terrace at the second floor providing a south-facing, external space with fantastic views.
All the properties are similar to the Green Street Phase 2 project (on this website) and are designed to AECB silver standard, which is a passive house based method of construction providing very well insulated and airtight houses well in excess of current Building Regulations standards. All houses have a durable, brickwork ground floor with well insulated render upper floors and the roofs are monopitch. Large windows allow for views and plenty of natural light.
