Won in a national competition, Green Street is a development of low energy housing near to the Victoria Embankment in Nottingham. The development comprises thirty-five 2, 3 and 4 bedroom town houses, plus a community recycling and information point. The scheme uses natural materials such as timber, hemp and lime render, and makes use of natural light, photovoltaic panels, thermal mass and biomass fired boilers. The entire development is raised above the surrounding area to combat the risk of flooding from the nearby River Trent.
